We are a bunch of women who love God and love to encourage other women to be all God wants us to be. We know that the Bible says that "one shall chase a thousand and two shall put ten thousands to flight." Joshua 23:10 We are stronger together!

Sister Talk Ministries NEWS
We are going to Channel 57 on Wednesday evening @ 6:30pm to help with the prayer line there. What we will be doing is manning the lines when people call in of prayer. We are schduled to be available from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We will also participate in a shor training at 6:30.
If you are interested in attending with us please call, email, or holler by Sunday (my birthday, lol) . We need to give a head count so they will be prepared to receive us.
Other news of note: On yesterday Tuesday July 20 Sister Talk visited the Atlanta Shelter for Women and Children to conduct our monthly Bible study there, Lesa Hopkins manager. We can report that all of heaven is rejoicing for the one soul who gave her heart to God. Two women have called our Message center or as I have taken to call it, "venting line", and one lady from the shelter called in on the Morning JOGG line. We are so excited about what God is doing through our ministry.
We have been praying for God to use us in a might way and move even more than before throughout this ministry and he has. Today I received a call from a pastor's wife who wants WHOLE to partner with her and schedule a WHOLE Event at her church. To know more about the WHOLE EVENT check out the website where it says "Check Out Our Ministries". Go to W.H.O.L.E.
On Monday, we have secured a manager for our Youth ministry called A Little Somethin' Somethin" (ALSS) So keep your eyes and ears alert for exciting events from this ministry.

Mary- a True Friend
As I join the world in celebrating the Easter season, commemorating the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I'm taken by the story of Mary Magdala at the tomb. In Matthew 28, we see Mary going to Jesus' tomb Sunday at dawn, three days after Jesus was crucifies to death. She had followed him thtough the trial and the torture. Now Mary and Jesus' friendship had come to a tragic end. It was very likely that the government wanted to eradicate all ties and beliefs of Jesus. Life became hazardous to all who were associated with Jesus and his teachings. Most people would probably have run away, scared and grief strickened like his disciples had done. But I was struck at how Mary did not give up her friendship. Even after Jesus had died; she was the first one to the tomb ready to minister to his body. She decided to be faithful all the way to the very end. As a result it was Mary who God used to spread the message of Christ's ressurection!
I wonder about my own relationships and friendships. How much of a friend am I? Am I prepared in my heart to stick around and minister even when the journey takes us to sad and difficult places? Will I take the time to see the circumstances to victory? Would I allow my reputation to be on the line to help my friend? Will my friendship place me in a place that God can use for His glory? From the Amplified version of the Bible in I Corinthians 13:4a, says, "Love endures long and is patient and kind..." The 7th verse says, "Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]."
I'm certainly need the help and wisdom of God in this area. Its my desire to be a friend that God can use to bring victory even in difficult times. How do you rate?

Text Messaging Love
I have raised my children and they are grown, (whew! Thank God!). Sometimes I forget how dificult it is for some ladies who are still raiseing children. You know by the time they are finished caring, cooking and cleaning up they are too pooped to pop. Let's not talk about the working mothers, even though I was one myself, I still look back and marvel at having the strength to complete the task.
Good news! Technology has given us a way out. As much as I hated text messaging at first, I find myself using it often. It really works to give kind words, caring tidbits of encouragement, and genuine thoughts of love. It is said that people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
It's true.
This morning I took the opportunity to use this tool to send a messages of thought to a bunch of my girlfriends at one time. Responds were coming in like rain- even from those who never text or call. Try it. It's a personalized message to your friends that says they are important to you and they are in your thoughts. Try it with your sisters, parents, and your not so friendly freinds. It's a easy, quick ,powerful hug.
It will come back to you hug after hug after hug.

Never Missing a Beat
It is so great to walk through life with each other. Knowing that He is in the midst of us , Jesus said He'll be there. Guess what, He didn't make a distinction on where and the circumstances in which were meeting. He just said if we gathered in His name He would be there with us. Get together with girlfriends and share life. If you have Christ in your life and seek to please Him always, you are meeting together in His name.

It May Not have Been Your Fault but Now it's Your Responsibility
Know anybody like that? Our churches are filled with people who have sustained terrible interruptions to their good lives. We do not know everybody's history. We don't understand the hidden pains people carry from day to day. But if we look beyond our own feelings for a minute, we can see pain in people's behaviors. Do you think that might attest for so many injuries we all sustain in church? We have all been hurt in our lives by one person or another especailly in church. Even though we may not have been responsible for the injury, we now carry it. We're responsible for it now. We do not have the right to throw our attitudes and misbehaviors on our sisters and brothers in Christ because we hurt. We don't not have the right to be a carrier of pain. It is our responsibility to get healed!
How's your attitude? Jesus tells us to come to Him all who are burdened and heavy laden. He said He would give us REST,(Mattthew 11:28).What are you going to do about your hang ups, your issues, your pain? Go to God so you can have a great life and become a carrier of love.

Finding Balance in Life
Let me know your thoughts.
I for one, have had an ongoing goal of finishing some projects around the house (i.e. painting a few rooms, finally unpacking items I've have in storage boxes for nearly 3 years, and establishing a workout routine). I even have the goal of building my friendship base.
I believe that it is important to prioritize these projects in order to keep first things first. I've experienced less stress in my life when I am willing to allow the lower priority things to slip in order to focus on the important things in life such as my quiet time with the Lord.

Happy New Year!
We are so blessed to see this new year, new decade. 2010 a year of order, and testimony and recovery. This is the year that we are reaping all that belongs to us. We have suffered with so much circumstances in "09". Now we win in 2010.
As usual, what you begin sets a precedence that will guide the rest of the year so take care in what you do and declare this month. Remember to give God first fruit of everything, time, money, love, devotion, strength. Remember to call friends and family and make peace with everyone that needs it. Remember to go out of your way to get closer to a sister in Christ.
Two things I want to share with you and encourage you to begin:
- Make a VISION BOARD. A Vision board is a statement of what you are looking forward to during this year. Your vision board could be made out of poster board, or you can purchase a small bulletin board or photo board. On the board you may place pictures, words or symbols of all the things you want to accomplish or see come to pass this year.
The Jewish nation celebrates Rosh Hashanah. The First of the Year. During this time the family comes together and make a list of the things they want to accomplish for the new year. Then ten days later they do something that I think brings the vision board idea to a new level. They list the mistakes they've made, the things they could do better, the people they forgot to love and anything that they which they could do over. They take note those things to not repeat the same mistakes or overlook those important items.
After you have finished your board, invite your girlfriend or a sister in Christ to discuss it with you and agree with you in prayer and speaking life over it. Make this a wonderful time together. You can even spend time together creating your boards. The more girlfriends the better. A Vision Board Party!
2. The second thing I want to suggest is to begin this year drawing closer to sisters in Christ. Jesus says that other will know we are His disciples because of the love we show to each other. Practice loving each other with the love of Christ by taking a Taste of the 40 day Journey. Just log into sistertalkministries.net and follow the Taste. I want to hear about your journeys. I guarantee your life will change to a fuller version.
God Bless You. Oh one more thing, we will be beginning a sister talk newsletter right here on this blog so stay tuned. I will be sending you more information. Happy New Year!
