Text Messaging Love

Hey ladies, the Bible tells us if we are going to have friends, we need to show ourselves friendly, (Psalms 81:24).  Even though this is a very natural skill, in our busy, busy world, we have to remember to attend to this important part of our lives.

I have raised my children and they are grown, (whew! Thank God!).  Sometimes I forget how dificult it is for some ladies who are still raiseing children.  You know by the time they are finished caring, cooking and cleaning up they are too pooped to pop.  Let's not talk about the working mothers, even though I was one myself, I still look back and marvel at having the strength to complete the task.

Good news! Technology has given us a way out. As much as I hated text messaging at first, I find myself using it often. It really works to give kind words, caring tidbits of encouragement, and genuine thoughts of love.  It is said that people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
It's true.

This morning I took the opportunity to use this  tool to send a messages of thought to a bunch of my girlfriends at one time.  Responds were coming in like rain- even from those who never text or call.  Try it. It's a personalized message to your friends that says they are important to you and they are in your thoughts. Try it with your sisters, parents, and your not so friendly freinds. It's a easy, quick ,powerful hug.

It will come back to you hug after hug after hug.

Never Missing a Beat

My friend, Sandy had surgery the other day and she was relentless with praise and perserverance in faith.  I and some of my girlfriends felt like we had gone throught the whole experience with her.  Just before she went in the operating room she called to tell us.  Then when she came out and was able to talk, which was probably about ten minutesafter the surgery, she had her mother call us again to tell us.  Sandy's raspy voice provided the stage to bring reality to the set.  We were delighted to hear our friend's voice.  So many prayers had gone up for her before and she was a victory coming forth!  It brought a smile to our faces and gave an elevation in our faith.

It is so great to walk through life with each other.  Knowing that He is in the midst of us , Jesus said He'll be there.  Guess what, He didn't make a distinction on where and the circumstances in which were meeting.  He just said if we gathered in His name He would be there with us.  Get together with girlfriends and share life. If you have Christ in your life and seek to please Him always, you are meeting together in His name.
