Spring cleaning is one of those annual things you do right after the winter months. It's a different sort of cleaning than the ones you do weekly or daily. It's the kind that requires pulling out furniture and appliances, exposing spaces that had been hidden for a year or more. It calls for taking light fixtures apart, climbing up on scaffolds to clean hard to reach places. It takes time and endurance to accomplish the job.
So it is with our souls. Everybody 's soul need inspecting from time to time. Psalms 26:2 says, "Examine me, O Lord and try my reins and my heart." 2 Corinthians 13:5 says, Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith: prove your own selves..." Over the years we may have accumulated feelings of unforgiveness, self pity, unrepentant sin, hurts and bitterness. Issues that aren't dealt with won't go away but just lay dormant causing dissatisfaction with our lives, our loved ones. It messes with our health, sucks out our joy and creates fear, damaging our faith and our relationships with each other. What about allowing the Lord to do some spring cleaning in your heart? If we surrender to the Word and seek His face, guess what? He'll do it.
