Remember the song: What the World needs Now is Love? Guess what it's still true, but I would like to extend that to the church too. We have trouble loving the unlovely because.. well frankly, it hurts us. Yes there are unlovely people that come to church every Sunday just like you do. But they may not be as lovable as you may estimate yourself to be. Hello? We don't know what people have had to endure in their lives, what they are hiding from or even the source of their unlovable behavior. But what we do know is that God loves them too and has commissioned us to do the same. And guess what? We can.
Thje Bible says in 1Corinthians 13 that love never fails and love never ends. Love has changed an otherwise unlovable person into a lovable one. It will give you a joy that you wouldn't have anticipated. Now don't get crazy, this is done through the love of God, not just your clever words. It's good to know that the burden is on God.
